Due to Overwhelming Demand, Tanglewood Popular Artist Series Adds a Second Paul Simon Concert
Due to overwhelming demand, Tanglewood is pleased to add a second Paul Simon concert to the festival’s Popular Artist Series schedule. The beloved singer-songwriter will now perform on Sunday, June 28 at 6 p.m. in addition to the previously announced performance on Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the June 28 date go on sale Thursday, February 12 at 12 p.m. at tanglewood.org.
These performances, which mark Simon’s Tanglewood debut, are part of the artist’s highly acclaimed “A Quiet Celebration” tour, which features a two-part show, opening with the performance of the GRAMMY-nominated masterpiece Seven Psalms. This beautiful 33-minute continuous piece of music was heralded by the press worldwide - Variety called it "Quietly stunning...unlike any other Simon album" and Rock Cellar hailed it as, “a stunning achievement from an artist with a career full of them.” After a brief intermission, the show resumes with Simon performing many of his greatest hits and many deep cuts celebrating the breadth of his career.
