We come together to celebrate the creative life of the region in this reimagination of the grand tradition of Serge Koussevitzky’s Tanglewood on Parade. The campus comes alive with a full day of music and activity, with musicians from the BSO, Boston Pops, Tanglewood Music Center, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, plus marching bands from Lee Middle and High Schools, Pittsfield High School, and Hoosac Valley High School, a block party celebration with Festival Latino, storytelling with Chris Newell, square dancing on the lawn with Ida Mae Specker and her band, Berkshire Busk! musicians, face painters, magicians, acrobats, and giant puppets — all culminating with a celebratory procession to the Shed.

“Serge Koussevitzky had a vision for a Tanglewood where the whole community could gather and discover joy. Tanglewood on Parade brings together all the people who are a part of Tanglewood, and many more from the community around, to listen, play, and experience that joy. What will you discover on the lawn?” — Yo-Yo Ma
