The TMC Library Program offers a unique opportunity for emerging professional orchestra librarians with exceptional potential to study as Fellows at Tanglewood. 

Under the guidance of BSO Assistant Librarian Russel Allyn, Library Fellows work with some of the world's most important conductors, preparing materials for all TMC Orchestra (TMCO) activities, including concerts, rehearsals, and masterclasses. Conductors in recent seasons have included BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons, Thomas Adès, Herbert Blomstedt, Gustavo Dudamel, Susanna Mälkki, Dima Slobodeniouk, and many more. 

2026 Library Program

Library Fellows spend most of their days working at the TMC Orchestra Library at Ozawa Hall, or attending rehearsals and performances in Ozawa Hall, the Theatre, the Shed, and elsewhere as library representatives. In addition to work with the TMCO, each Fellow receives significant time to work across campus in the Boston Symphony Orchestra Library with BSO Principal Librarian D. Wilson Ochoa and BSO Assistant Librarian Mark Fabulich, helping to prepare music for BSO rehearsals and performances. 

2026 TMCO conductors and repertoire will include: 

• Andris Nelsons leading Haydn Symphony No. 31, Beethoven Symphony No. 5, Strauss Till Eulenspiegel and Don Juan
• Esa-Pekka Salonen leading Bartók Concerto for Orchestra and the Festival of Contemporary Music Orchestra Concert
• Performances of Debussy La Mer and Ravel Le Tombeau de Couperin
• Additional conductors and repertoire TBA 

When not fulfilling the responsibilities of the Fellowship, Library Fellows have the opportunity to attend all TMC and BSO rehearsals and concerts, as well as many of the rehearsals and masterclasses of other Fellowship programs.
